Attic & Basement Insulation Services

Countless homes throughout southeastern Wisconsin have had their attic or basement insulation contaminated by the feces of raccoons, mice, squirrels, and bats. These contaminated materials can possess some serious health hazards if not controlled. At Advanced Wildlife Control, we offer cleanouts to remove and eliminate all contaminated materials left behind from wild animals.

Using a versa-vac system of hoses and/or garbage bags, we remove all debris and feces from your home and empty it into a large garbage dumpster outside. Once the contaminated materials have all been removed, our technicians will spray a sanitizing agent to control any potentially hazardous waste that could be left behind. We will also spray a pest control product to eliminate any bat bugs, lice, mites, ticks and other insects that may have been left behind by the animals that were in your attic.

Insulating the Attic: Fiberglass Blown-In Insulation

After attic insulation is removed, we will re-insulate the attic to the proper R-Value. (The recommended “R-Vale” for the state of Wisconsin is R-49 and this meets all local city codes.) We use Owns Corning Pink Fiberglass blown-in insulation which we feel is the best product currently on the market.

There is no settling so it will maintain its R-Value over a long period of time. The insulation is fire resistant and helps control moisture and condensation. It also has the highest certified recycled content of any fiberglass insulation at 35%. Owens Corning insulation is a very reliable product that has many benefits with saving energy and protecting your home.

Insulating the Basement: Spray Foam Insulation

After basement insulation is removed, we can re-insulate the basement sills with spray foam. Whether your home is brand new or 50+ years old, spray foaming basement sills has a lot of benefits. It eliminates entry points for rodents and insects to enter your home. It helps control moisture, condensation, temperatures, and air infiltration.

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is an environmentally friendly spray-applied insulating foam plastic. It is installed as a liquid and then expands many times its original size. Spray foam is very durable and maintains its physical properties over time.

Initial Insulation Setup

During our initial quote, we will develop a plan and price for the attic or basement cleanout to be done safely and effectively. Our goal is to always leave your home cleaner as it was prior to our arrival. Therefore, we will use tarps to cover and protect your floor from our hoses and/or debris.

We will order a large garbage dumpster for the cleanout day to throw away all contaminated materials. We do not cover any gable vents, soffit vents, recessed lights or bathroom heat lamps. However, our technicians will locate any areas that are allowing air to escape and seal those gaps so your home is heating and cooling efficiently. Additionally, if the access panel to your attic is in need of a weather strip seal we will also provide that. We also take notice of lighting and wiring in attics. If we see anything concerning, we will bring it to your attention so you can contact an electrician to fix it. Our technicians make every effort to provide you with the most excellent service at all times.

IN SOME CASES YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY MAY PAY FOR YOUR ATTIC INSULATION TO BE REMOVED AND CLEANED. PLEASE ASK OUR TECHNICIAN FOR FURTHER EXPLANATION. DUE NOTE, THIS ONLY APPLIES FOR ATTICS CONTAMINATED BY RACCOONS OR BATS.

No, we are not certified to remove vermiculite or asbestos from attics. However, we do have several connections with companies that are fully-certified to remove vermiculite or asbestos. Just give us a call at 262-242-4390 and we’d be glad to direct you to them.
