It is transmitted when a person inhales the Histoplasma fungus spores that grow on large amounts of bat droppings.
- Raccoon Droppings – Raccoons are well-known for transmitting raccoon roundworm. They can excrete roundworm eggs through their droppings, which can easily be inhaled. Once the eggs hatch, they cause serious illness throughout the body. Symptoms include muscle aches, fatigue, vision impairments, and heart problems. Raccoon roundworm is very dangerous and can be fatal if left untreated.
