Skunks can cause several problems for homeowners. Skunks will often live underneath decks, sheds, porches, and garages, causing potential structural damage. Getting sprayed by a skunk is never fun, and it is very tough to get the smell out of your clothes and skin. These nocturnal animals are also common carriers of rabies and can tear up lawns looking for worms and grubs.
At Advanced Wildlife Control, we believe in humane animal removal. Therefore, we will humanely live trap and relocate the skunk 30+ miles away from your home. We have special skunk traps that are hard-covered to prevent pets from being sprayed if they are found wandering over by the cage. Our technicians rarely are sprayed by skunks. We have had a lot of experience handling skunks – catching over 500 skunks each year!
Our customers are our #1 priority! At Advanced Wildlife Control, we want to make sure your animal problems are resolved in a timely manner. Therefore, our AWC professionals can usually be out at your property on the same day when you call or the following day.
Skunks are omnivores and will eat berries, insects, earthworms, grubs, small rodents, eggs, and food scraps in people’s trash.
Skunks can be found throughout Wisconsin in both rural and urban areas. They will live in brushy areas near forests, open pastures, burrows, and underneath decks, porches, garages, and sheds.
The breeding season for skunks occurs from February to March. Baby skunks are born in spring to mid-summer with a litter size of about 2-10 babies. The largest litter of skunks we’ve caught was 13 babies in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
